Laser Hair Removal Kamloops

Intense Pulsed Laser (IPL) & Radio Frequency (RF)

What exactly is laser hair removal?

Laser is an advanced treatment of hair removal that provides a convenient, non-invasive method for permanently reducing or removing unwanted facial or body hair.

How does laser work?

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a broad spectrum of light emitted through the skin and absorbed by the hair. This action creates heat that travels down the hair follicle causing injury to the follicle and surrounding vessels. These vessels are the energy source for growth and without vital nutrients the root is disabled, and the hair stops growing.

How well does it work?

Our system combines IPL laser with Radio Frequency (RF) which is a current that works under the skin to deliver more energy. German engineered duo action improves the effectiveness and safety of this treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

Everyone is different so progress is based on hair color and skin type. Laser is attracted to colour, so the best results are with dark hair and light skin. The light must travel through the skin so tanned or darker skin types can be a challenge. However, with laser advancement we can now treat all skin colors and types so if you have dark skin and dark hair you are a still a candidate, but progress will be slower. Clients can expect a 10-25% decrease after their first treatment. Laser is less effective on red, blonde, or grey hair and waxing is recommended for these hair colors.

Will it hurt?

Most clients feel very little pain and tolerate it very well. Thanks to the addition of Radio Frequency for efficiency, the IPL requires less output of energy to achieve results and there is much less risk of overheating the top layer of the skin. In addition, our laser has a built-in cooling system for comfort.

How long will it take?

Laser is a quick procedure. Typical treatments are 30 minutes per area.

Can I have a consultation to decide if this is the right treatment for me?

Yes, a complementary consultation is provided to determine if you’re a good candidate for laser. We assess your hair color, skin type, and go over your medical history including medications that maybe a contraindication for treatment. Cost per treatment, number of sessions and timing will be discussed at the consultation. Pre and post treatment instructions will be discussed, and a signed copy given to you to take home.
